Even before graduating from the hotel management course, Utsa landed her first role as a Front Desk Associate for Hyatt Regency Kolkata and since then she has never looked back. With an illustrious experience of 17 years in the industry, Utsa has held leadership positions and worked with Hyatt hotels across multiple cities in India.

After a wonderful and tremendously enriching first stint as a General Manager for 2 years at Hyatt Place Rameswaram, she took over the reins at Hyatt's first mountain resort property in India, Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort, in the scenic Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, in June, 2018.

Born and bred in Kolkata, Utsa is the only daughter for her parents. With a sturdy grip on marketing, finance, and budgeting, she is not only a critical thinker but also a multitasker and knows how to grab an opportunity by the horns.

An easily approachable person for her colleagues, one will always find her available. With a keen eye for detail, Utsa is very hands-on in solving problems regardless of the area of the hotel. She is extremely particular about knowing what is going on and engaging with her guests and associates alike. Her approach to management is very simple – take care of the people – guests and associates. She opines that associates are the absolute key to success therefore emphasize training and guiding them. Her expertise lies in improving overall guest satisfaction, bringing innovation in day to day tasks, and driving the overall performance of the hotel. The only thought which keep her moving "Sky is the only limit".

From working in different Hyatt brands like Hyatt Regency to Hyatt Place and Park Hyatt and then the first mountain resort in India, her journey with Hyatt has been nothing short of spectacular. She has a rich and diverse journey across the country — from co-heading front office operations at Park Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa, to heading the Rooms Division as the Assistant General Manager at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi to managing Food & Beverage at Hyatt Place Pune, Hinjawadi .

Utsa has been part of 4 pre-opening teams and was instrumental in setting up these hotels. After being associated with Hyatt for more than a decade and a half, she says that ''Hyatt is my second home. I took the first steps of my career with this company and achieved all my milestones here. Hyatt is a people-centric company, where 'care' is the driving force, both for guests and employees and it has enabled me to substantiate my potential while giving me a deep sense of belonging."

Photography and a travel enthusiast, Utsa loves adventure. She loves to go hiking, explore new places, and capture moments. A true 'bong' at heart she loves food.
